C- 8/31/13; HB Pencil; 10×10: Design a logo; experiment with repeating lines, create motion using sequence and progression. Vary the line weight, creating contrast. Describe the speed and how the eye will move around the design. Did your line quality engage the viewer emotionally.
The logo shows visual noise through the sharp edges and yet shows easy flow in the middle double helix of the object. The logo itself is uniform and concrete, but the easy flow to black and white is off due to the unbalance of color shading. I used the sharp endings of the letter as a visual, as if they are pushing back against the edges of the wall. Your eyes travel fast through the viewing of the logo. They bounce back and forth as you look to each corner of the piece.
